City residents are not affected by this new plan. This new solid waste program offers several benefits:
  • Efficient and cost-effective solid waste service
  • Cleaner neighborhoods: less illegal dumping and reduced truck traffic and wear and tear on our streets
  • Environmental sustainability: greatly increased recycling opportunities and reduced air and noise pollution
The State of Georgia requires all its counties to update solid waste disposal plans every 10 years and to work toward reducing the solid waste deposited in landfills. This plan will accomplish that goal. As part of the new program, Gwinnett County has contracted with five private haulers that will each serve a designated area of unincorporated Gwinnett. A zone map is available at www.sustainablegwinnett.com. Residential property owners in unincorporated Gwinnett County will receive a letter the week of June 1 detailing the new plan, their assigned hauler, and contact information for the company. The new base service includes weekly trash pickup:
  • Household waste
  • Bulky items – old furniture, mattresses, etc. (contact your hauler to schedule pickup)
  • White goods – stoves, refrigerators, etc. (contact your hauler to schedule pickup)
  • 35 kinds of recyclable items
Yard waste collection is an elective service that you will subscribe to directly through your hauler. The cost is $60 for 6 months of service (January through June, July through December) and cannot be divided into smaller increments.  Cart and bin delivery will begin as early as June 1. Depending on which hauler is assigned to your area, you may receive a new 95-gallon trash cart and an 18-gallon recycling bin or you may continue using your current one. If you prefer a smaller trash cart, a 65-gallon size is also available. However, you must contact your hauler to arrange for delivery of the smaller cart. Additional information about trash carts and recycling bins will be included in a countywide mailing and on the web at www.sustainablegwinnett.com.  The base service fee will be $17.86 per month with no additional fees unless you contact your hauler to arrange for yard waste pickup or other additional services. The base rate is guaranteed for 18 months, through 2011. The County will bill charges for the remainder of 2010 and all of 2011 with the property tax statement mailed this summer and due in the fall (total of $321.48).  If you have questions about the new garbage and recycling program, please contact the Gwinnett County Solid Waste and Recycling Division Call Center at 770.822.7141 on weekdays between 7:30am and 5:30pm.  You may also contact your assigned hauler with questions about your pickup service.

Rivermoore Park Vehicle Identification Decals

E-mail Print PDF

Rivermoore Park parking decalIn order to help address recent crimes and disturbances in the neighborhood, the board and I have put together a number of action items. The first of which is identification for the Rivermoore HOA and Gwinnett County Police to track residents of our community.

Each household has received by mail (enclosed in your 2010 Budget letter), two numbered parking decals to be placed on your vehicles front windshield for HOA identification and security purposes while using community amenities.  It is intended for one decal to be attached per each vehicle registered to the resident household. Should you need additional decals, please request them from CMA c/o Jennifer Cheek This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

In conjunction, we have contracted with a local towing company, A-Tow, www.atow-inc.com 404-577-8950 to expedite removal of vehicles that are not in accordance with HOA rules. (For example, parking in the Clubhouse/Pool Private parking lot without permission). They will be servicing our common areas with their services should they be required. New signs will be posted.
